Community Support During COVID-19

Connecting to the community

During these unprecedented times, homes have become offices, kitchen tables have become classrooms, businesses have had to temporarily close their doors and hospitals and emergency services have run low on supplies. Seaboard Foods understands the needs in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, so they provided more than 293,000 servings of pork and monetary donations to schools, emergency services, community pantries and nonprofit organizations.

Now more than ever, food pantries are needed to provide wholesome food for families who may be food insecure. Seaboard Foods donated more than 45,000 servings of Prairie Fresh pork to 20 food pantries throughout 16 rural communities.

The company also recognized the educational needs families are facing. Seaboard Foods commends teachers and school staff for adjusting their coursework to online instruction by contributing to school districts and community organizations to purchase learning supplies for families.

To support local restaurants and show appreciation to employees, the company purchased lunches from community restaurants to serve to employees as a 'thank you' for their hard work throughout the connected system.

To thank the heroes in scrubs during these challenging times, Seaboard Foods donated more than 45,000 servings of pork as a token of their gratitude to emergency services units and hospitals in 32 rural towns in Iowa, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. They also donated PPE suits and N-95 masks to hospitals, clinics and first responders in several communities.
